Day 1 ;
I stepped out of the time machine, surveying my surroundings. In the future, in 2014, my 6th grade class and I had been assigned to travel to the past. Every student had been assigned a topic for Mesopotamia – mine was family life. I then realized I had successfully arrived in Mesopotamia! I pulled my hair down and slipped on a wool dress so I’d fit into their culture. I realized it was dusk, and the sun was starting to set. After a bit of walking, I reached the outskirts of a Mesopotamian town. I could see these odd dome-like houses. They were made with clay-mud bricks. These houses had rooms about 6 feet wide. There also were many goats crowded into a field. It was an amazing sight! There is a moon festival taking place later on, so I have to get ready. In the distance, I could even see a farmer walking around with a dog, tending to his crops. As I continued on my way, I could see filthy mud houses and lean-to shacks. I soon found a small pathway, houses flanking either side. Soon, I reached a place where the houses were constructed much better. By then, it was nightfall. I found a place to sleep underneath a cozy tree, a date palm from the look of it.
