The center of the village was definitely busy!
I woke up drowsily. It was about seven in the morning from the look of it. It was humid and warm outside already, but the shade of the date palm I was resting under protected my skin from the heat. I got up, making up my mind on where to go next. I finally decided to visit the center of the village. When I arrived, I could see much activity. Traders scurried across the town square, attempting to interest people in trading for the goods they carried. Some people had woven baskets and were selling them. Merchants and many others swarmed everywhere. I walked past them, mesmerized by an object. It was a ziggurat, as we learned in our studies. It was a massive building that appeared to look like a wedding cake. A massive flight of stairs went up the building, leading to a medium sized room. On top of that was a shrine. Nobody except people in fancy clothing, priests and priestesses, went up there. After that, I found a person who said he wouldn’t mind showing me around, a guide basically.
