Today I time traveling to ancient Mesopotamia. When I arrived it was like a whole new world to me. There are all kinds of things that we don't usually have today in my world. I saw some marvelous clay looking things with pretty marks on them that kids were writing on. I asked one of the children what they were doing. Me being my curious self, I asked one of the children what that means. The little boy said, “It is called cuneiform; I will show you how to write it!" I am very excited about this! This is an experience I’ll never forget!
It's day two here in Mesopotamia. The little boy meets me in the temple. He told me about the workings of cuneiform because I honestly have no idea about this “cuneiform”. First he told me his name was Akalamdug which means early king of Ur. He told me that cuneiform is written on clay tablets with a stylist which are little chopstick looking things. They use symbols instead of letters. Cuneiform was a big change in people’s lives because they could understand people better. The name cuneiform means “wedge shaped.”
